Why should you create an audiobook of your title?

The public’s interest and appetite for downloadable audiobooks is on the rise.
Projections for the audiobook market have it fast approaching a billion dollars.
It’s no secret that millions of people love to read but are now so short on time, they’re taking their entertainment with them. Audiobooks allow people to catch up on their reading while they’re on the move. Commuting via car or train, walking, jogging, or just relaxing at home, they can listen to your titles anywhere by simply downloading the audiobooks to their favorite digital player.

A few more interesting points:

• Educational institutions are discovering that comprehension skyrockets when kids are - listening to-rather than reading- books
• Libraries are a primary market for audiobooks (the only requirement is that audiobooks be unabridged)
• The audiobook market demographics: over 30, educated, computer savvy

What will it cost?

Our audiobook production fee is based on what is referred to as “Finished Hour Cost.”

Finished Hour Cost? This means that we charge only for the produced and recorded material used in the mastered audiobook. This protects you from paying slow readers/producers more than fast readers/producers. And all books present their own challenges; a lot of dialogue forces the reader to take more time to separate the character’s voices, or there might be foreign words, or scientific terms. So, when all is said (literally) and done, the final “out loud” reading time or Master Length of the full audiobook production is multiplied by the agreed upon “Finished Hour Cost” to determine the Total Cost of the produced audiobook.

To get an idea of how long your book might run, you can use the following formula: 150 written words = 1 minute of spoken word.

Special Note: Please understand that until we have the book or prepared reading script in hand, we will not be able to give you an accurate production quote. Page size,font size, writing style, etc all factor in to how long a book will actually be when read aloud.

We offer three (3) packages that vary in terms of production options, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your marketing strategy and budget.

All 3 packages include the following:

Script Preparation - We prepare all our texts for recording by researching pronunciations, place names, and dialects

Casting the Reader – We work with a proven group of talented readers with great voices and will find the right voice for your project. We can also tap into our broad nationwide network if we need to. You will receive a custom demo of 2-3 pages from your book so you can hear just how your words will sound. Once you approve the reader, recording can begin.

Recording the Book – Rest assured, your book will be recorded in a high quality, digital audio format and then professionally edited and mastered for the best possible sound. This is a lengthy process, so your patience is appreciated.

Directing - Your project will be guided and directed by experienced professionals to guarantee that it sounds great!
